For developers
The Masking API in your own system
Masking in one HTTP call: send text, get back masked text and the token mapping. Nothing is stored on the server.
Example call
curl -X POST https://filterit.ai/api/v1/masking/mask \
-H "X-Api-Key: fk_live_..." \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{ "text": "Ο Νίκος Παπαδόπουλος (ΑΦΜ 123456783) μένει Αθήνα." }'
{
"maskedText": "Ο [NAME_1] (ΑΦΜ [AFM_1]) μένει [ADDRESS_1].",
"mappings": { "[NAME_1]": "Νίκος Παπαδόπουλος", ... }
}
How to get an API key
- Create an account or sign in.
- Open the "API keys" section in the app menu.
- Create a key and copy it right away. It is shown only once.
We store a cryptographic fingerprint of the key, not the key itself.
Endpoints
- POST /api/v1/masking/mask — Masks the sensitive details and returns the mapping.
- POST /api/v1/masking/unmask — Restores the original values in tokenized text.
- POST /api/v1/masking/detect — Returns only the findings, without replacement.
Zero retention
The token mapping is returned inside the response and is not stored on the server.
Usage limits
Per-key limits, per minute and per day, with usage metrics on the "API keys" page.
Fails closed
If detection is degraded, the API refuses rather than return incomplete masking, unless you explicitly allow it.
Integrations
Integrations
The same API in six forms. All of them work with your account key.
Python and Node SDKs
Libraries with the mask, unmask and detect calls. PyPI and npm publishing coming soon.
MCP server
Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code and any MCP client mask before the text reaches the model and restore the values in the answer.
VS Code and JetBrains plugins
Masking inside the editor, with the same key.
Browser extension
Chrome and Edge. Masks the prompt before Enter in ChatGPT, Claude and other AI chats and restores the values in the answer.
Word add-in
Mask and restore a selection or the whole document inside Word. The mapping stays on your machine.
Desktop agent
On-device detection for every application, with organisation policy and per-device licences. Team and Enterprise plans.
